Post 25 - A Song That You Could Listen To All Day and Never Get Tired of it

There are a lot of songs that I just put on repeat at times, and I can tell you that I have listened to some songs for years and always sing to them and enjoy them when they come on. However, I think I am going to have to go with Elton John here, Probably Hey Hey Johnny/Empty Garden. This is also a song that could go under the love to sing to day.

Post 24 - A Song That You Have Danced To With Your Best Friend

I do not think this blog challenge understands that I just do not dance. I remember we had dances at lunch time in Jr. High. It was out in the Art Room, and they would turn the lights down real low so it had ambiance, lol everyone stood on the side and talked. I think that was what they were trying to cure???

Post 23 - A Song That You Cannot Stand To Listen To

I do not remember who sings it, and I refuse to look it up on You Tube to give a link but it bothers me and gets stuck in your head for years not days, I loathe this song, I Touch Myself. Ugh Creeper song

Post 22 - A Song That Someone Has Sang To You

This sounds like a romantic thing, and I do not recall anyone singing to me, although I have said that I would willing to be sung to by a few...Chrissy sang Bohemian Rhapsody to all of us, but do not think that counts on this one??

Post 21 - Your Favorite Song

Oh My Gosh...I am sure that none of us can limit ourselves to just one...that would be ludicrous. You have such amazing artists. Led Zeppelin would have to be one of the greats, I would choose Black Dog or Kashmir as my personal favorites over the popular Stairway to Heaven though.

You have Guns and Roses, which I would choose Don't Cry, November Rain, Knockin on Heavens Door.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama

Eagles, Beatles, Elton John, Elvis, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson - all legends in their own unique way whether you like them or not, they brought us music. You now have a ton of artists that can follow in their footsteps and keep the music coming our way. We all have our favorites but I love that every one of us has a little bit of every genre in our playlists. None of us stick to just one all the time. We may listen to something more that others but it all has a time and place for us. So well rounded in music are we!!!

Oh man, I think I could do this all night. But since it is 1:20 am and I have somewhere to go in the morning, I will stop there. So many more amazing songs though!!

Post 20 - The Last Song Listed Alphabetically on my ITunes...

This would be You and Me by You and Me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNnBcCk7eDA

I have listened to Pink a lot lately. I have enjoyed the occasional song/story because of Amanda mostly, however, I have listened and enjoyed a lot more lately.

Post 19 - The First Song Listed Alphabetically in Your ITunes....

I got rid of ITunes, but on Amazon music it is Adele - Hello

Which is ironic since I cannot even remember the last time I listened to Adele and especially this song.

Post 18 - A Song That You Love But Rarely Listen To

Elvis Presley is one artist that I love. I love his voice, I love the power behind his words, and the way he can just take you somewhere else. I think he was a talented man. I rarely listen to him however. A few reasons, but I do still enjoy his music when I hear it.

His gospel songs are some of the best. My favorite hymn was sung by him and he did it justice.
How Great Thou Art

Post 17 - A Song That Makes You Want to Dance

Well Footloose comes to mind, the very reason the song was sung...to get the town dancing again, right?  Foot tapping, must move song.

Another one would be Twist and Shout, and instead of thinking of the Beatles, I think of Ferris Bueller

Oh you know you just tapped your foot or bounced your leg and moved your head a bit just thinking about those two!!

Galvaston Texas - Carved Tree Tour

So hurricane Ike took out approximately 50% of Galvaston. They have now built a seawall, and raised all of the houses and buildings/businesses that survived 15 feet. They are rebuilding their corner of the world and doing a great job. The statistics of lives lost because of not listening to evacuate notifications were numerous. But some have chosen to make something out of the items that were damaged. The huge, ancient oak trees are one example. More than 35,000 trees were damaged or destroyed in Galveston during Ike, here is an article from NY Times, I have not read it, just the number - http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/05/us/galveston-trees-killed-by-hurricane-ike-are-carved-into-sculpture.html

Anyway, we went around Galveston and took pics, I hope you can see the angels, animals, characters. The tin man and toto from the Wizard of Oz was in the yard of a house where the creator of the show was born, in the front bedroom! Some were because the individual in the family that was lost liked the items they carved. The history behind each sculpture is cool/interesting. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed taking pics and going around to them. Here is a PDF that explains the history of the trees and how they came to be, and a bit of history on each tree.

not sure how I managed to get a small pic of Eva and I in there...kind of a cool trick if I knew how I may do it on purpose next time!

this one was my favorite. This is the grandmother sitting in the rocking chair reading to her grand kids. the chair next to her is a butterfly for the back and the rose on the other side. Very cool

I took the close up of her face because they made her look upset or angry, and the mermaids that we think of are not that way, although I guess in reality they are supposed to be mean little things.

This one is modest!

Galvaston Texas - Houses, Houses, Houses

The houses in Galvaston, something district lol sorry, cannot remember the name, but they were awesome. Some were bigger than church buildings, some were funky colors, some looked like doll houses with decorations (stickers) on them, but overall they were just great. Porches, widow walks, stained glass windows, fabulous wooden stair cases (I did aim my camera in a house or two...oops) But just incredible history. The gutters were lined with seashells, was fun.

Love this house, incredible, so much character

Love this porch, balcony, hanging plants, rounded windows on side

I do believe this one was actually a church?? there is a cross on top but no sign, so who knows

the little house I could almost affor in this neighborhood!!

My wee little house next to its big brother!

this was a very tame purple house, there were some really outrageous colors, but I did not get them all

wow, just wow

I was aiming inside their house...opps, but the woodwork on the stairs and rail was exquisite
