Day 3 - Or I guess Post 3 Since there are not really days here...A Song that reminds me of one or both of my parents....

This is difficult because Music was not huge in my home. I thank my friends for making music such an important part of my life, and for my parents for allowing me to have a stereo in my room, as bluetooth headphones were not a thing and I am absolutely sure they wished they were then. AC DC Back in Black Album was my go to a lot of the time in my last 2 years at home, and my parents didn't really listen to that sort of thing!

So, as you can see, just this one album has some things that a parent might object to!!

I did like the fact that I could listen to and expand my music the last 30 years. I think that there were times in my life that I thought I had to grow up and not listen to songs like I used to, songs that I knew were inappropriate and that I know what I was thinking/doing while listening and therefore did not want my kids to do/think those things....and of course the old, "to numb to feel anything" times.

Once I got out of the numb stage and realized I did not have to change to listen to music, it became important again, life line ish. I was not forced to listen and love something, and I did not have to turn off Josh Groban, you raise me up because it was depressing??? What?? Anyway. off track...

I would probably say that the Tijuana Brass reminds me of my mom the most.

I have no idea if this song is one that she listened to or liked but I do remember Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass in California on the huge 4 foot high 3 foot wide speakers lol
Just the speakers memory makes me think that music must have been important to one or both of them at some point eh?

I think I remember seeing Janis Joplin and also Hendrix in the barn, John Fogerty as well. Dad Dave made the comment once when I expressed surprise that I had no idea what he liked...well that is true, he never shared that. He always played country in the car that I can remember, probably because of mom mostly??? But I do remember when Centerfield came out and I was listening to it, he seemed to enjoy it, so that is what I associate with him.
